6. Recognition and rewards are in place to make sure staff contributions to the organisation are recognised and valued

7. Staff are involved and empowered to take ownership and responsibility and to be involved in decision making

8. Staff learn and develop effectively

9. Performance measurement is in place to improve the performance of the charity

10. Improvement is continuous in the way people are managed and developed

Matrix Standard Accreditation

In May 2005 Vital Regeneration achieved the matrix Standard for its flagship Information Advice and Guidance Service ‘Vital Advice’.

The matrix Standard is the national quality standard for any organisation that delivers information, advice and/or guidance on learning and work. http://www.matrixstandard.com

Achieving the standard means that Vital Advice:

1. Clients are made aware of the service and how to engage with it

2. Clients understand the service and what it can offer them

3. Clients are provided with access to information and get support in using it

4. Clients are supported in exploring options and making choices

5. Service delivery is planned and maintained

6. Staff are competent and receive the support they need to deliver the service

7. Offers clients and staff opportunities to feedback on the service

8. Listens to feedback and ensures quality improvement is continuous and ensured through monitoring, evaluation and action

ICT Hub Award for 'Most Innovative Use of ICT'

In March 2007 Vital Regeneration won the National ICT hub award for the ‘Most Innovative Use of ICT’.

The ICT Hub is a national organisation that aims to help charities make better use of ICT, rewarded Vital Regeneration at the national awards ceremony in London, which celebrated the brilliant work being done by charities and community groups in the field of ICT.

We won the ICT Hub Award for the most innovative use of ICT for our FreqOUT! Project, which seeks to explore the artistic and educational potential of wireless technology to engage socially excluded young people.
