October 2008 - Greenside collaborates with The Royal Academy
BNP Paribas, a leading European bank head quartered near The Greenside Community Centre, is currently a corporate sponsor of the Royal Academy of Arts, and has recently provided funds to Vital Regeneration to arrange trips to the exhibition and to deliver arts-focused community workshops in August and October 2008. The workshops gave residents access to high-quality artists from the innovative arts agency, 'Creative Knowledge'.

The focus of the Autumn workshop was on using different forms of art, such as drawing and sculpture, to explore participants' creativity and imagination, encouraging new friendships by bringing different cultures together.
October 2008 - Get Online Day at Greenside

On the 30th October, Vital Regeneration's learning centre at Greenside, Firststep.com, held a 'Get Online Day' to encourage people of all ages access and use computers and the Internet, perhaps for the first time, and to find out the benefits of being online.
It was a chance to discover what the Internet could do for families. The aim was to reach people considered 'digitally excluded', bringing them in to the global online community.
The helpful, friendly, staff at Firststep.com were on hand to help get people started and to promote courses and opportunities available in Vital's learning centres and outreach programmes. There was face painting and other art activities for younger children so that parents could participate in the computer activities.
If you are interested in signing up for courses next term, or in the future, contact the learning team on 020-7245-2865.

July 2008: BNP Paribas' Community Fundraising for Greenside
The residents from the Church Street area have benefited greatly from BNP Paribas’ generous donations and support, working with the Community Development team at The Greenside Community Centre.

Maria Harris and Dominic Papineau from Vital Regeneration being presented a cheque for monies raised by BNP Paribas from a local football tournament. Presenting the award was Stefano Paschetto, BNP Paribas’ European Head of Institutional Sales, Fixed Income, and Guillaume Amblard, BNP Paribas’ Global Head of Trading, Fixed Income
The money from the football tournament for BNP Paribas staff members in July was used to deliver some local community programmes during the summer for residents. The winners of the cup were "Egan's GALACTICOS" led by the captain Shaun Wyles and named after the team manager Martin Egan.
BNP Paribas has supported a range of activities and services delivered by Vital Regeneration including funding our Eco Kids Clubs in local schools, donating equipment for the community centre and other local groups and delivery of art projects in partnership with the Royal Academy of Arts.
As part of BNP Paribas’ volunteering initiative, Vital Regeneration were invited to attend an Open Day for their staff where they could find out more about volunteering opportunities with organisations that BNP Paribas are linked to. From this event, Vital Regeneration have recruited 2 staff members to volunteer on existing programmes. We hope this will continue for future projects.
The Community Development team at Greenside have also made links with Michael Flatter, BNP Paribas’ Hospitality and Catering Manager who has very generously donated tables from the canteen for use in the community centre and more recently donated gym equipment which the community development team passed on to the Fourth Feathers Youth Club and London Tigers, to improve local services for young people.
Vital Regeneration would like to thank BNP Paribas for their generous support in recent months and hope that the relationship will continue to flourish.
